Princess Anna Style Hat/Bonnet
Supplies:
Worsted weight yarn, purple and blue
Size H crochet hook
Yarn needle
scissors
Probably a cat and a cup of coffee ... and an impatient child asking if you're done yet... ;)
Sizes: Toddler (child) (in the photo above, my 5 year old is wearing the toddler size cap.)
With Purple yarn:
Ch 44 (50)
First 12 rows: 42(48)
dc across, ch2, turn.
Ear flaps:
Row 1: 7hdc, ch 1,
turn
Row 2: 5sc, ch 1, turn
Row 3: 5sc, ch1, don’t turn!
(here’s where it gets confusing, just bare with me)
hdc into stitches to create a smooth edge until the last 7
stitches then do rows 1-3 again. Break off yarn.
Fold the hat in half and sew up the back seam
With Blue yarn:
Attach blue yarn to edge anywhere and dc around the the
entire edge. Break yarn, weave in.
With White fluffy yarn:
Attach white fluffy yarn TO PURPLE YARN, not blue yarn. This
is so it stands out. dc about 10(15)
stitches in center of top of hat. Break
yarn, weave in. DONE!
For extra fun, attach some braids on the side, appliqué a
crochet flower, or embroider some flowers and swirls.
