Little Lamb Costume



Infants Lamb Vest
Size 0-3mos or newborn (it fits loosely)
Yarn Bernat Pipsqueak
Needles size 9 straights


Body:
Co 50
Knit 11”

Back:
Knit first 25 sts and then turn work.
Continue knitting these first 25 sts for 4” and BO those stitches.

Front:
Starting in middle of work (space between back and front separation)
Knit 6sts and then turn work.
Continue knitting these 6 sts for 4” and BO.

Next start binding off 13 stitches in the center of the front piece, this will make the neck line.

Knit the remaining 6 sts for 4” and BO.

Sew tops of front to back, and sew up side seam—remember to leave room for the arm!


Tail:

I just wrapped a bunch of yarn around my hand, tied some string around it and sewed it on the back. 


Hat:
Size: newborn (for larger hats, use your favorite hat pattern, or figure out how to make this one bigger and sew on 2 ears—pattern below)
CO 35 on straights
Knit 4”

Decreases:
Row 1: *Knit 5, k2tog, across.
Row 2: *Knit, across
Row 3: *Knit 4, k2tog, across.
Row 4: *Knit, across
Row 5: *Knit 3, k2tog, across. (15 sts remaining)
Row 6, 7 & 8: *Knit across.

Break yarn, pull through all 15 loops and sew seam.

Ears: make 2

CO 6 sts

Knit 1”

Decreases:
Row 1: k2, k2tog, k2
Row 2-3: Knit
Row 4: k1, k2tog, k2
Row 5-6: Knit
Row 7: k1, k2tog, k1
Row 8-9: Knit
Row 10: k3tog
Break yarn, pull through loop.

Fold ear in half and sew on the side of the hat, about midway down with the fold facing the back . You can add some pink to the center by knitting the same ear pattern as above in a worsted weight yarn and sew it on. 

All Finished! 

 ***Side Note: This vest should be big enough to fit a 12-18month old, but may be snug.
